Adminstrative Structure Of Chitral

Chitral District is the largest District in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province of Pakistan. It is further divided into 2 Tehsils(sub-divisions) i.e Chitral and Mastuj and 24 Union Councils. 2 MPAs(Members Of Provincial Assembly) and one MNA(Member Of National Assembly) are elected from Chitral.

Polo

Polo is the regional sport played in Chitral. An annual polo festival is held in Shandur Valley located in Chitral District where people gather from all over the world to enjoy the festival.

Language Of Chitral

Khowar is the language mainly spoken in Chitral. Urdu, being the national language of Pakistan and the lingua franca, is also understood in Chitral. Khowar language is written in Arabic Script.
